1539 Launches Stunning New Afternoon Tea Menu

Afternoon tea might seem like an archaic 18th-century tradition to some, but this classically British custom is ever-popular, offering a nostalgic and refined escape from the outside world. With the ideal combination of delicate brews, dainty sandwiches, sweet treats and sophisticated locations, what better way to spend the time between lunch and dinner? It is also a wonderful choice for a social occasion – from a simple catch-up to a special birthday – as well as the perfect gift!

Fresh off the back of their Taste Cheshire Best Large Restaurant award, Restaurant 1539 have launched their brand-new afternoon tea menu, through which their dedication to fantastic quality has gone unchanged. There’s truly something for everyone, as the menu boasts an impressive eight different tea choices; from Earl Grey to Garden of Eden, customers are invited to sample the smell and look of each leaf before making the all-important decision.

Tea-sippers are then treated to a myriad of delicacies, each one more special than the last – such as the particularly delicious cardamom semolina cake with its unique taste and distinctive texture. A classic part of any afternoon tea, the lovely cakes and sandwiches are joined by the delicious freshly baked scones; whether plain, sultana or maple and pecan, there is no wrong decision!

All these delectable choices, twinned with the swift and wholehearted service from the staff, means 1539 have nailed the winning formula for the perfect afternoon tea, all while boasting magnificent views of the oldest active racecourse in the world.

With prices starting at £24.50, afternoon tea at the award-winning Restaurant 1539 is available from 2pm – 5pm on Friday and Saturday.
