Awards Nomination Celebration for Two Cheshire Pubs

Staff at two Cheshire inns owned by Nelson Hotels are celebrating after being nominated for a prestigious award.

Both The Pheasant Inn in Tattenhall and The Fishpool Inn in Delamere will compete for the title of ‘Pub of the Year’ in the 2019 Marketing Cheshire Awards at a glittering ceremony in Knutsford on 3 October.

At some point between now and the ceremony, both inns will face a rigorous ‘mystery shopper’ exercise as part of the judging process, before the winner is announced on the night.

Nestled in the gloriously unspoilt Peckforton Hills, The Pheasant Inn is a quintessentially English five-star country pub. Proudly overlooking everything from the Cheshire Plain to North Wales from its location along the historic Sandstone Trail, this hidden treasure is a retreat for locals and visitors alike, championing delicious, honest, homecooked food made from the finest locally sourced fresh ingredients and produce.

Located on the edge of the shady oasis that is the Delamere Forest, the cosy, characterful Fishpool Inn dates back to the 18th century. Serving freshly-prepared food made from the finest, locally sourced ingredients prepared in its cutting-edge open-fronted kitchen, The Fishpool is renowned as one of the county’s most popular gastropubs by regulars and first-time visitors alike.

As well as a mix of menus for a range of dietary requirements, both inns serve a host of traditional ales, wines and spirits, whilst The Pheasant also features 12 rural-chic rooms that are the perfect way to extend your stay. Both inns are also dog-friendly properties.

Andrew Nelson, Operations Director for Nelson Hotels said: “We’re delighted that both The Pheasant Inn and The Fishpool Inn have been recognised with these prestigious nominations for the 2019 Marketing Cheshire Awards.

“They reflect the hard work, commitment and ongoing performance of our talented teams in both locations and we raise a collective glass to their continued efforts. We can’t wait for the ceremony in October to find out who wins!”
