5 Day White Water Kayaker Springboard Course Event With Dee River Kayaking

Dee River Kayaking is a friendly and professional river guiding service based in Chester providing the most fantastic 5 day white water kayaker springboard course experience on the beautiful Welsh River Dee, near the town of Llangollen.

Just half an hour or so from Chester you can have the most awesome experience of your life with Dee River Kayaking White Water Springboard 5 Day Intensive Course for white water beginners and grade 2 paddlers looking to progress with a firm foundation.

Throughout this course you will learn hard skills in:

• Paddle skills and boat control
• Self and team rescue
• Reading moving water
• Staying in control in through changing currents

You will also be taught the soft skills of:

• Planning safe river trips
• Team work on the water
• How to plan and carry out the descent of a rapid.

This course is designed to springboard your knowledge, understanding and performance levels on the river whilst you have a truly phenomenal 5 days having great fun on the river in the rapids.

The aim is to send you away with enough experience to begin to make your way as a white water enthusiast, plan your own adventures, and have tons of great days on the river.

• An action plan for your progression going forward, and further remote input whenever you seek it.

The white water classification on the Welsh River Dee range from grades 1-3.

• Grade 1 is generally flowing but not particularly turbulent.

• Grade 2 has some turbulent spots for excitement and fun.

• Grade 3 is where the whole channel is generally turbulent with plenty of waves for the thrill seekers.
