Whitewater Active, an activity company in Llangollen, only 30 minutes from Chester is your gateway to unforgettable outdoor adventures in the stunning Dee Valley, North Wales including Aqueduct Canoe Tours.
Guided by one of the Whitewater Active qualified instructors you will master the basics of canoeing and also learn some interesting facts about the UNESCO world heritage site.
You will experience this UNESCO world heritage site from the waters edge, as it's meant to be. You will be transported from the Whitewater Active centre and along with your instructor you will experience the wonder of this amazing venue.
During this 2 1/2 hour session you will be guided along some fantastic sections of the Shropshire Union Canal finishing over the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct.
You will meet at the fantastic Whtewater Active centre in the heart of Llangollen where you can grab a coffee at the award winning coffee shop Riverbanc You will be given your equipment by the canoe specialist staff and transported to the start of your trip.
You will be given basic instructions on how to control your craft and in groups of 2 per canoe head off towards the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Sitting 126ft above the River Dee this breathtaking feat of engineering is best experienced from the waters edge. We will give you some fun facts about the Aqueduct and you can take in the breathtaking views.
The session will finish at Froncysyllte basin where we will bring you back to Llangollen. Don't forget to grab some cake and coffees from Riverbanc for your drive home.
Session times: 9 am, 1 pm and 4 pm at weekends.
