After months of preparing the turf, the horses, and not to mention the racegoers' outfits are all ready. The 2018 season opener, City Day sees a change in format to the Boodles May Festival, as the opening day celebrates 100 years of the Chester Vase. This meeting serves up some fantastic on-track action with both Derby trials separating the men from the boys, as top-class contenders go head to head to compete at Epsom later in the season.Â

Thursday’s Ladies Day will offer an intoxicating mix of competitive handicaps and top class Group races, contrasting with the vibrancy of an enthusiastic stylish crowd. The Ormonde and Dee Stakes will be the feature races of the day and with a roll call of honourable winners, the stakes both on and off the track are high. Ladies, take part in a Best Dressed competition to be in with a chance of winning some fabulous prizes!Â

The final day of the Boodles May Festival culminates with the highest profile race of the three days, the 188BET Chester Cup - the most valuable race of the three-day festival. Supported by the Huxley Stakes, 188BET Chester Cup Day will command the largest crowd of the three days and a palpable atmosphere, impossible to bottle.
