The Walled Garden School is located in the grounds of Hawarden Castle and is the venue for a bookbinding session with Anachronalia.

Linette, your guide, loves books. She set up Anachronalia in 2012 as a small-scale craft business specialising in handmade books, stationery, and book related accessories.
Her years of hands-on experience in this ancient craft will captivate and inspire you to take the skills learned within The Walled Garden home.
About the workshop, in Linette’s own words:
Learn the basics of craft bookbinding with multi-section case bindings. We'll talk about materials, choices and tools before you make your own notebook.
We'll go through choosing your paper, folding, and sewing, as well as how to finish your book cover.
Whatever your tastes, this class will take you through making a fabulous, roughly A6, hardback notebook for you to take home.
What you will learn:
How to use traditional, by-hand techniques including Japanese stitching, binding a cover, crease and fold making.
What you will take away with you:
Your own handmade hardback notebook (approx. A6) and the knowledge of how to make one at home.
Lunch and unlimited tea and coffee are included.
