Unlock a world of craft, code and play with EdTech start-up Sniff + Snails.
Their Craft + Code workshops are designed to showcase that coding can be as hands-on and creative as pulling out a box of craft or Lego.
In this workshop, you will start your coding journey by designing and building a spooky shadow theatre show that changes colour for each scene.
Hayley (a.k.a Snails) will begin the workshop with a whistle-stop exploration into the mind-blowing, jaw-dropping technologies that already exist.
With excitement levels raised, it’s time to get hands-on. The first step will be to build a mini-computer using a device called the Crumble controller.
Next, you will learn how to program the computer to control a light. The remainder of the workshop will involve storyboarding and building a spooky shadow theatre play that changes colour per scene, all powered by your new computer.
The shadow theatre (excluding the computer) and puppets can be taken home after the workshop. You will also be provided with a Sniff + Snails goodie bag.
