The Walled Garden School is located in the grounds of Hawarden Castle and is the venue for a Doodle and Drawing Workshop with David Setter.
Book your course via the 'Tickets' button above.
A fun day for children, though parents are encouraged to join in, too (please book tickets for all those taking part). If you don't want to join in parents are welcome to attend and watch on.
This Doodle and Drawing Workshop takes you on a step-by-step, sketchbook-based journey of discovery as you learn new ways to draw, discover new skills, and gain confidence in your art skills with David Setter. This workshop is guaranteed to be fun, and you will leave with a new found appreciation of drawing and lots of new skills.
It’s a journey that begins with the participant’s 'go to' - ‘comfort zone' drawing.
David gently pulls and stretches that first drawing like putty to achieve different outcomes.
Through a series of fun exercises such as drawing with eyes closed, continuous line and speed drawing against the clock, the learner discovers new ways to draw.
The speed drawing is called 'Twodles'.
The stop watch (usually an old fisher price toy) is set for two minutes whilst a subject is picked out of a hat.
There’s a high possibility that the participant might be invited to draw a carrot on a surfboard, or perhaps even beans on toast with faces!
Guaranteed to be pulled out of the hat is lots of fun, a new found appreciation that drawings don’t need to be ‘precious' and a love for sketchbooks!
Suitable for children aged 8+. Lunch included for ticket holders.
