Event Details
Chester Cathedral hosts a magnificent gallery of outstanding works of contemporary mosaic by internationally recognised artists from across the UK and abroad for you to enjoy for FREE until the end of April!
The artists work on display is never seen before, pieces that respond to the inspiring theme of Constellations.
Highly skilled craftmanship is needed for the artists to produce these stunningly unique works of art in Mosaic known as one of the most ancient and enduring art forms.
Visitors to the Cathedral will marvel at the extraordinary variety of materials, textures and colours used by these modern mosaic artists, and really take in the detail and complexity of this art form up close.
There will also be a collaborative installation showcased that is created from tiny jewel-like mosaics made in bottle tops!
This exciting exhibition has been curated by Aleta Doran, Artist in Residence at Chester Cathedral, and Manchester based mosaic artist Tracey Cartledge, on behalf of the British Association for Modern Mosaic.
The exhibition is held in In the Chapter House and will be open during normal cathedral hours. Free entry. Donations welcome.
