Visitors to Chester have been given a boost as two car parks in the city centre will offer free parking at least once a month throughout 2020.
Chester Race Company, in partnership with CH1Chester BID, has committed to providing free parking for shoppers and visitors to the city at the racecourse and at Linenhall car park in Nicholas Street. Free parking will be available every Sunday following a Saturday race meeting during the Chester Racecourse season and every last Sunday for the rest of the year.
The free parking initiative offers almost 800 spaces in the city.
The free parking event is on the last Sunday of the month until May when the 2020 race season gets underway. During the racing season, which runs until the end of September, free parking will be made available every Sunday that follows a Saturday race day to encourage visitors to spend another day in the city.
The scheme will then revert to the last Sunday of the month for October, November and December, allowing Christmas shoppers and sale seekers the opportunity to spend longer in Chester.
The White Horse, which opened in 2014, is a family-friendly gastropub offering a casual dining experience, relaxed service and quality food and drink. The large play area is extremely popular with families.
1539 Restaurant and Bar opened its doors in 2008 and has gained a first-class reputation over the past eleven years. The beautiful glass-fronted restaurant is situated within the County Stand, overlooking the historic Racecourse and is open throughout the year.
