Disney devotees from in and around Chester are in for a treat this autumn.
The city’s Grade-listed cathedral has announced it will soon play host to a production from Enchanted Voices. Dubbed “The Princess Proms”, the musical extravaganza will showcase some of the best-loved songs and themes included on the soundtracks of some of Disney’s biggest animated adventures.
The event organisers are inviting all princes and princesses plus their family members to attend. The programme for the evening concert includes music from hit films like Frozen, Enchanted, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Moana, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, the Princess and The Frog, the Lion King and more, and includes songs originally sung by music icons like Taylor Swift and Elton John.
While serving daily as the spiritual centre of the city, Chester Cathedral has long been recognised as an outstanding venue for live music performances thanks to its stunning interior and astonishing acoustics.
The Princess Proms will now be live on stage at Chester Cathedral on Friday, September 19. Entry to the event will begin at 6.30 pm, and the concert will commence at 7.30 pm, running until 8.35 pm with a short interval. The cathedral is situated on St Werburgh Street in the centre of the city.
The show has a recommended age limit of three and over, however those under two attending won’t need a seat if they are sitting their parent or guardian’s knee for the show. Those aged 16 and over must buy an adult ticket priced at £15.52.
