A family-friendly running event is returning to Chester this spring. The city’s respected racecourse has confirmed it is welcoming back “Foamtastic Colourblast” for another year, and organisers pledge that the 2026 edition will be bubblier, brighter and bigger than ever.
Designed to support local charity the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford, the fun run is described as the most colourful event of its kind in town. Those collecting sponsors and entering can expect to encounter explosions of eco-friendly bubble foam in all the colours of the rainbow as they traverse the course at Chester’s long-standing racing venue.
Aimed at all ages and abilities, entrants can choose to dance, jog, run or walk the course, whether they are young or old, with no time limit imposed. Guests of Chester and residents alike are encouraged to get involved, including colleagues, friends and families, and each penny raised will help the hospice care for locals in need of assistance and support.
Foamtastic 2026 will now be open at Chester Racecourse on Sunday, April 19. The event will get underway at 10 am and will run until 2 pm. The race venue is based on New Crane Street in Chester. Tickets to take part are available priced for adults and children, and everyone tackling the course will get a Foamtastic Colourblast T-shirt for free, plus a medal to celebrate their participation.
When booking, runners can select their ideal shirt size, and collect it on the day of the event.
