Following in the footsteps of Jelly Roll Morton, Dr John and James Booker, the New Orleans tradition of recreating a full band using just piano is continued by Henry. Like his heroes before him, he draws upon a wide and unusual repertoire taken from various sources and all brought together under the umbrella of New Orleans piano. Traditional Spirituals, old-time Blues, Jazz, stride Piano, Rock, Latin American and Pop songs all contribute to the myriad of styles used to cook up this hot spicy Piano Gumbo.
