Event Details
Chester Art Beat is back in Chester city centre this July. The biennial event was a great success in the summer of 2022, and is growing through its expanding vision to develop Chester into an arts and culture destination, and make it a great place to live, work and invest in the arts.
Chester has an historic and contemporary Visual Arts scene, with many artists and creatives, making cutting-edge work. This year’s event seeks to bring 25 artists, craft makers and practitioners from a number of disciplines to exhibit, demonstrate their craft, speak about their work and answer questions.
Opening up it's doors to art lovers both old and young, on the morning of the 5th, there will also a an educational Friday focus, with local schools, colleges, and universities invited to bring young eager minds and students to ask questions and delve into the world of creativity.
Continuing into this busy summer weekend during the University of Chester's Festival of Ideas, all the artists will be ready to welcome you to their exhibitions and some provide opportunity for investment in a fabulous art piece or commission.
Stroll between exciting venues across the beautiful city exploring some hidden treasures such as the Bishop Lloyd's Palace, perhaps lunch at North Light, BridgeSt Coffee (market square) or The Arthouse, and then meander around enjoying the exquisite architecture of Chester Cathedral and Storyhouse.
Create your own glass masterpiece at Glass Deva, and browse bonus exhibits at õH Design Foundation and famous artists at Clarendon Fine Art. Or if you fancy a spot of shopping then the artists in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre - Atrium may rank top of your itinerary.
Join us for this free, immersive, inspiring and creative weekend to celebrate and support the established and emerging artistic talent from the vibrant communities of Chester, Cheshire and the North West.
