This Easter on Good Friday, 15 April, the streets of Chester will once again see the return of the hugely successful production of the Chester City Passion, Chester Mystery Plays in association with Churches Together, Theatre in the Quarter and Link Up.
Join over 5,000 people for this spectacular and commemorative free event to remember the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ.
Those involved in previous years were astounded and profoundly moved by the number of people who came into the City to watch the story of Christ’s passion unfold. The company used Chester's streets and rows as a theatre, telling the story from Jesus' entry into Jerusalem (under the Eastgate Clock) to the Crucifixion outside the West Door of the Cathedral. The 100 strong community cast was joined by Roman Soldiers, Karamba Samba and the Town Crier.
Matt Baker will return to direct the production and his music will be once again be heard on the streets of Chester.
