You can find Chester History & Heritage, a local and family history resource centre within the Grosvenor Museum, right in the centre of Chester. There are a variety of sources for you to explore and use, whether you are researching your family, enjoy looking at old photographs of Chester, or simply want to call in and watch a film show. Come and look at the latest exhibitions too, or have a chat about your memories and stories of living, growing up, working and socialising in Chester.
Chester History & Heritage is passionate about Chester’s rich and varied history so visit today and talk to the friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable team of staff and volunteers and go back in time with them!
There are a large number of resources available, including the Cheshire Imagebank. To find out more, visit the collections pages.
Also on offer is free computer access including ancestry and findmypast library editions. On Tuesdays and Fridays the volunteer family history researchers offer a free service where they can help you trace your ancestors – whether you are a beginner or you have just reached a stumbling block, this service is for you! To book a session with them call us on 01244 972210 or email chh@cheshirewest.gov.uk
