Chester is home to one of the oldest racecourses still in operation in Great Britain and perhaps even the world!
To celebrate 480 years of racing at the Roodee a special exhibition is launching at the Chester Grosvenor Museum - ‘Going the Distance: 480 Years of Racing at the Roodee’  which runs from 20 April to 6 October.
The exhibition will feature objects and images from the racecourse's illustrious history as it celebrates this incredible milestone.
Locally donated objects and photographs relating to the racecourse will be included in the exhibition alongside donated items including the racing silks belonging to the 100th winner of the MBNA Chester Vase, Young Rascal.
If you think you have any items that may be of interest then please get in touch with the museum before the end of March by contacting Elizabeth Montgomery (Collections and Interpretation): [email protected]Â or telephone:Â 01244 972197.
