“This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a number of edible and poisonous wild mushrooms, fruits and plants.
We’re excited to be running Autumn courses at Marbury Country Park, a beautiful new Cheshire venue on the edge of Budworth Mere. The mixture of open grassland, woodland and brooks make this park perfect for foraging.
We’ll be meeting at the picnic benches at 12 pm. The course starts there with a 20-minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
Then we’ll set off for a roughly 2.5-hour walk around the area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we come across. We then discuss and taste our finds over a light lunch.
Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an ideal family outing!
