Chester Zoo Announces Award Winners

Cheshire attraction and conservation charity, Chester Zoo, recently announced the winners of its 2025 National Conservation Education Awards.

Every year, the zoo celebrates conservation success through the awards scheme, shining a spotlight on those who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to educate a new generation on the importance of protecting animal and plant life on the planet.

The zoo’s latest awards ceremony, saw the registered charity assemble its shortlist of award nominees. The event also features several invited guests like representatives from its dedicated education partners based at University of Chester (U of C), Twinkl and hi-impact, and members of the zoo’s Youth Board.

Jan Wright won the “Outstanding Conservation Educator” for the Primary education sector. Passionate about conservation, Wright led a massive campaign to help conserve hedgehogs within the school grounds and supported her school in achieving distinctions in multiple Eco Schools flags.
