Chester Zoo will soon host an event designed for nature lovers of all ages. Now in its ninth year, the conservationist’s popular “Nature Fest” will make a welcome return for 2025, promising two days packed with immersive activities.
Based in the zoo’s dedicated nature reserve, the festival will feature games, music, crafts and community-based conservations. Those joining the fun will find talks, workshops, performances and practical experiences. Community Volunteer Coordinator, Christopher Ablett, commented:
“Nature Fest is open to anyone and features activities for all ages. Join us for den building, face painting, nature-themed games, drumming and dance workshops in the Creative Corner and storytelling sessions and wildlife-themed crafts!”
A unique highlight of the event is its interactive adventure called “Hedgehog Hideaway” that shows attendees how they can make their own gardens more friendly to hedgehogs.
The upcoming occasion is included in Networks for Nature, a Chester Zoo initiative that was recently rewarded with a £4 million injection from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to help grow its community-led efforts for conservation across the country. The initiative is supported by the Westminster Foundation and the Marjory Boddy Charitable Trust, and seeks to protect and create wildlife areas while getting people to connect with their communities and the outdoors.
Nature Fest is a free entry event and will now run at Chester Zoo this Saturday, September 13 to Sunday, September 14 between the hours of 11.30 am and 4.30 pm on both days. The zoo is located not far from Chester’s Roman Walls.
