The city of Chester takes pride in supporting diners with a plant-based diet, and an upcoming event in the city will highlight this once again.

For example, Eastgate Street restaurant Shrub has a menu with no animal ingredients, while other options like The Forge and Urbano 32 have dishes that allow for vegan fine dining or pizzas to please different eaters. This February, Chester is welcoming back the free Vegan Market, which visits the city on three selected dates throughout the year.

The upcoming edition of the market will once again run at Town Hall Square in the heart of Chester. The event will assemble a vast variety of specialist vegan sellers carefully curated by the market’s organisers. Those coming down on the day can expect to find artisan bakers, street foods vendors, ace brewers, sustainable jewellers, ethical gift makers, local artisan and other crafters.

The event is also regularly attended by eco-conscious not-for-profit organisations and zero-waste advocates, raising awareness and gaining support for their campaigns.

Since it was established back in 2019, the market has enjoyed great success and visits over 50 locations each year, welcoming more than 100,000 people ranging from vegans and vegetarians to curious passers-by.

The Vegan Market will take place on Sunday, February 23 and is due to start at 10.30 am and ends at 4 pm. The event is entirely accessible, and attendees are welcome to bring along their well-behaved dogs. Those who are unable to visit the vegan event will be happy to hear that it will return to Chester on Sunday, June 29 and Sunday, October 26.
