Chester’s renowned racecourse The Roodee will soon be welcoming back the Matthew Clark Summer Festival for another iconic race day.
The major Chester event is well-known for being the first fixture of racing in July, which sets the standard for the summer season of the sport in the city.
Chester Racecourse is inviting residents and visitors alike to spoil themselves, family and friends and enjoy its premium enclosures and amenities at the important Saturday event for the racing world. The oldest active racecourse on the planet is offering a diverse range of packages to suit race fans of all shapes and sizes, from groups and individuals to those hosting a special celebration.
Racegoers can select from different areas to watch the races at the July festival. Admission to the Roodee, which includes both the Dee Stand and Open Course, is available priced between £15 to £20, while tickets for the Tattersalls Enclosure are priced from £40 to £45.
There will be seven races held on the day in total. The first race of the day will start at 1:57 pm and is entitled The Champagne Laurent-Perrier RBF Maiden stakes, which is a Class 4GBB Race for two-year-olds covering five furlongs and 15 yards with prize money of £9,000. Starters orders for the last race will be at 5:22 pm, which is the IFAHR Trophy for three-year-olds with a prize of £20,000 for the winner.
The Matthew Clark Summer Festival will take place at Chester Racecourse this Saturday, July 1. The racecourse is located on New Crane Street and the event will open at 11:30 am.
