Storyhouse in Chester is presenting a festive concert called “Blue Lantern Sessions: RadCo Christmas Special” this winter.

The December event will feature some of the biggest names in the acoustic music world playing in a setting reminiscent to the popular programme “Later with Jools Holland”.

The intimate session will showcase acoustic, world and roots musicians, and celebrates the open mic event called Blue Lantern where Igloos Hearts, a Welsh duo made up of Katie and James MacGregor, first met. The two artists, who were featured in “The Piano” on Channel 4, will lead the engaging experience that seeks to recreate the atmosphere of a cosy sitting room.

The MacGregors will act as hosts for the evening which features an up-and-coming performer before the headline act, RadCo takes centre stage. A best-selling touring band, RadCo is helmed by Mark Radcliffe of BBC Radio fame, joined by his friends to play songs sourced from his past groups spanning a quarter of a decade like Galleon Blast, Foes and The Family Mahone, which featured many musicians from Chester.

The Christmas concert will be held in Storyhouse’s Garret Theatre on Tuesday, December 2. The show will start from 7.30 pm, and the Chester arts centre is easy to locate on Hunter Street in the heart of the city. Tickets are available to purchase for £16.20 for Storyhouse members and at £18 for non-members, and admission is subject to an online booking fee of £1.50.

Those wishing to attend are recommended to book early as tickets are expected to sell through quickly.
