Award Winning Comedy Arrives in Chester

Storyhouse, Chester’s respected arts centre, has announced it is welcoming up-and-coming comic Ria Lina to its stage.

The rising stand-up star is bringing her brand-new show called “Riabellion” to the city in a show presented by Little Wander.

The upcoming show features brand-new material and follows on from her debut tour called “Riawakening”, which was voted among the ten best stand-up shows last year by the Telegraph. According to the show’s description, not only has Lina realised she is awake, but now she is ready to start rebelling. As a result, audiences can witness the comedian exploring breaking the rules, the endless battle of men versus women and the state of our world.

Regarded as the UK’s highest profile Filipina comedian, Lina has received high praise from critics, with the Evening Standard calling her ridiculously gifted, while The Scotsman stated:

“There isn’t a comedy venue in the country that shouldn’t be fighting for her.”

An industry favourite, Lina has won multiple awards for her energetic onstage appearances. She is also a well-known face on popular TV shows like “Mock the Week”, “Have I Got News for You?” and “Live at The Apollo” and has acted as co-host on “Celebrity Mastermind”, “Lovestruck High”, “Pointless” and “The Last Leg”.

Ria Lina and her Riabellion show will now be live on stage at Storyhouse on November 15. The show has a start time of 7.30 and will run until 9.30 pm. The arts hub is situated on Hunter Street in Chester. Tickets are available for those aged 16 and over.
