Cheshire Charity Supports Chester Marathon

The Petty Pool Trust recently provided strong support for the 2025 MBNA Chester Marathon.

The Cheshire-based charity that provides specialist education to young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities joined with local businesses, volunteers, runners and other charities in an epic community effort to make the returning race a success.

A team from Petty Pool worked alongside hundreds of other volunteers, staffing critical water stations to rehydrate runners with drinks and cheer them on. The 2025 edition of the long-standing marathon witnessed more than 7,500 entrants participate, many of whom were sponsored in order to raise much-needed funds for both nationwide and local causes.

Commenting on the event, CEO for Petty Pool, Sally Garratt, said that it was a privilege to be involved in the MBNA Chester Marathon this year, adding:

“Our volunteers were fantastic, full of energy, encouragement, and teamwork. Events like this show the very best of our local community, and we are proud to stand alongside so many other brilliant organisations who gave their time to make it such a success.”

Among the runners on the day was Danny Rowlands, who tackled the footrace to raise funds for the registered Cheshire charity. He completed the marathon in just three hours and 49 minutes, and raised more than £300 to support neurodivergent people, helping them realise their full potential.

The Petty Pool has extended its appreciation to the Chester Marathon for allowing it to participate in the event, and now looks forward to renewing its involvement in 2026.
