Justin Hawkins is bringing a stage adaptation of his celebrated YouTube show to Chester.
Renowned for his tenure as frontman for glam-inspired rock group The Darkness, Hawkins’ name has never left the music scene. From personal projects like Hot Leg to performing on hit TV shows like “The Masked Singer”, the vocalist’s incredible five-octave range lets him hit incredibly high notes few can reach.
Online, the noughties rock icon has become a social media sensation with his channel called “Justin Hawkins Rides Again”, which has earned him more than 600,000 subscribers and counting. In 2024, he transformed the ongoing programme into a live show for the stage, and in 2026, he’s bringing it to Chester’s revered arts theatre, Storyhouse. The new edition is comically called “Justin Hawkins Rides Again… Again” and will feature all the hallmarks of the popular YouTube show.
The format features Hawkins dissecting contemporary music releases, often playing the guitar parts and singing while offering his personal critique. As well as being a skilled singer and guitarist, the former frontman also has a wealth of knowledge on the innerworkings of the recording industry, and imparts anecdotes and advice as part of the programme.
Justin Hawkins Rides Again… Again will now be live in the main theatre of Storyhouse on Wednesday, January 14. Doors to the event will open at 7.30 pm, and the show kicks off at 8 pm. Storyhouse is simple to locate on Hunter Street in central Chester.
