Events hotspot and spiritual centre Chester Cathedral is participating in Samantha Barks’ upcoming odyssey.
The beloved West End star is undertaking in a “Live Cathedral Tour” this winter that will see her play a series of brand-new solo concerts in some of the UK’s most beautiful houses of worship.
Chester is the second stop on the tour, which begins in Lichfield on November 12. The celebrated star who played Elsa in the musical stage adaptation of Disney’s “Frozen” will then go on to perform in Portsmouth, Lincoln, Carlisle, Durham and Llandaff.
Each enchanting concert will see Barks backed by an accomplished live band in a candlelit cathedral. She will sing a carefully curated collection of her best-known numbers, alongside new favourites with a mix of rock, pop and musical theatre for audiences to enjoy.
Designed as intimate experiences, the solo performances will bring the star’s heart and voice to the fore and tell the story behind each song and its personal meaning to Barks. This spring, the singer took the London Palladium by storm with her first ever live solo show, which proved a sold-out success. The concert followed her victory in the final of hit ITV show, “The Masked Singer”, where she performed under the alias “Pufferfish”.
Samantha Barks will perform live at Chester Cathedral on Thursday, November 13. Tickets are now available to book for the show, and the cathedral is situated on St Werburgh Street in the centre of the city.
