A message from the organisers of Chester Folk Festival

A message from the organisers of Chester Folk Festival

It is with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s festival.

In reaching this decision, our overwhelming priority has been the health and welfare of all the people who help to make Chester Folk Festival such a wonderful place to be, be that as an audience, performer, supplier, trader, technician or volunteer.

In common with everyone else, we have been closely monitoring the situation in relation to COVID19 (Coronavirus). It is a fast-moving and accelerating situation. Given the recent announcements by the Prime Minister and that the authorities are expecting the infections to peak at somewhere around the time of our festival, we regretfully concluded that we have no choice but to cancel.

This is not a decision we wanted to make but we hope that you will understand why we feel we must make it, even though we as well as you will be disappointed by this outcome.

If you have already bought tickets, a full refund can be arranged. Alternatively, you may wish to use the sum you have paid to reserve your ticket for next year, with a guarantee of no price rises. Please let us know what you wish to do.

We would like to thank everyone who supports us in whatever capacity. We intend to be back again next year so do put Spring Bank Holiday 2021 (28th to 31st May) into your diaries.
