Classic Alternative Rockers to Entertain Chester

Guests and residents of Chester with a passion for retro rock won’t want to miss an upcoming concert in the city. West Midlands alt-rock icons Pop Will Eat Itself (PWEI) are performing at The Live Rooms this month and tickets are now on sale.

The upcoming gig in Chester is part of PWEI’s massive UK tour for 2025 to promote their latest single. Titled “Bruiser”, the track has been described as an “electro-punk banger” and has already proved a favourite with fans at their recent live shows.

PWEI have a powerful reputation when it comes to on stage presence. When performing live, their energetic shows are full of creative passion and sonic chaos that inflame audiences. The new tour is led by original band members from the 1986 line-up, Graham Crabb on vocals and samples and Adam Mole on keyboards, guitars and samples. They will be joined on the night by drummer Cliff Hewitt, bassist Davey Bennett and long-time collaborator vocalist and record producer Mary Byker (AKA Ian Garfield Hoxley).

The 2025 musical odyssey is the band’s biggest UK tour since 1994, and its members have commented they are excited to perform. Founded in Stourbridge, the bands members came from Coventry, Birmingham and the Black Country and while they launched as a grebo act, their style evolved. Adding samples into the mix, their music changed to indie and industrial rock. After their hit “Get the Girl! Kill the Baddies!” entered the top 10, they earned themselves a loyal following.

Pop Will Eat Itself will perform at The Live Rooms on Saturday, November 22. The venue is situated on Station Road in Chester.
