As part of its highly praised “Concerts by Candlelight” series, Chester Cathedral is welcoming a show dedicated to an acclaimed R&B star.
The show is titled “The Music of Luther Vandross”, and offers an evening of entertainment and a chance to hear the legendary songwriter’s iconic hits.
Presented by Xperience Live, the performance will let audiences appreciate the grade-listed cathedral’s astonishing acoustics, as a skilled vocalist takes to the stage backed by a live band of trained musicians. The interior of the spiritual hub in central Chester will be illuminated by thousands of LED candles to create an enchanting atmosphere for the heartfelt event.
The concert pays tribute to Vandross’s timeless music, and fans of the artist will get to enjoy some of his most famous tracks performed live. These will include, “Never Too Much”, “Here and Now”, “Dance with My Father”, “A House Is Not a Home”, “Stop to Love”, “So Amazing”, “If Only for One Night” and many more.
Known for his soul-stirring love songs filled with joy and for having a voice with emotional depth and rich tones, Vandross won eight Grammy Awards throughout the course of his career.
The Music of Luther Vandross candlelight concert will be performed at Chester Cathedral on Saturday, April 18. The show has a start time of 7.30 pm and ends at 9.45 pm. The cathedral is based on Saint Werburgh Street in the centre of the city.
Tickets are available at a range of prices between £20 and £50.
