Hickory's Smokehouse is an authentic American BBQ, located on the banks of the River Dee where you can enjoy a traditional style of cooking that has its roots in the US but is now firmly rooted in Chester.  You are assured of a warm Southern hospitality family-friendly welcome.

Born from a road trip across America’s Southern States, the craft of barbecue was learnt from some of the region’s most respected pitmasters. Hickory's Smokehouse has been busy behind the scenes, and the latest menu brings a fresh mix of flavours to the table. Inspired by their latest travels through the Southern States, you’ll discover a new line-up of dishes and drinks alongside the Hickory’s favourites you already know and love.

From lighter bites to plates made for sharing, there’s even more to choose from – perfect for everything from laid-back lunches to long sociable meals, and those get-togethers that turn into something worth celebrating.

They’ve also given brunch a fresh twist with some brand-new dishes, giving you even more ways to start the day. And, with the warmer days ahead, they’ve added a range of seasonal dishes, bringin’ the flavours of Spring and Summer to the Smokehouse.

Ready for some new Southern sips? The bar team have been shakin’ things up. Think easy-drinking favourites, fresh flavours and the kind of serves you’ll want to keep in hand all season long. Whether you’re stopping by for one or settling in for a while, there’s plenty to sip, savour and come back for more.

Let's Brunch
Brunch has got to be the most fun and certainly the most sociable meal of the day. There are few things more enjoyable than a long leisurely meal eating great food with your favourite people. The Americans seem to understand this more than most, and the Southern States in particular make it a real event. The brunch menu has something for everyone, from Southern States to twists on classics, plus a couple of stacked showstoppers. Paired with a freshly brewed ‘Cup of Joe’, iced coffees or sweet teas, start your day the Hickory’s way!

A Taste of the South

Authenticity is absolutely key for Hickory's and that starts with the smokers. Anything good is worth waiting for, right? The ‘Ole Hickory’ Smokers from Missouri and the ‘Southern Pride’ smokers from Tennessee are set right into the heart of the restaurants.

The Smokehouse selection is cooked low ‘n’ slow, bringing out deep, authentic flavours inspired by the American South.

It takes more than a smoker to make the meat fall off the bone tender though. It’s the skill and passion of the pitmasters who have all been trained in the art of barbecue. At Hickory’s they have a saying... “Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear aprons.” And the pitmasters are Hickory's heroes.

The Smokehouse menu celebrates exactly this. Think BBQ trays made for sharing, platters for when you want a bit of everything, and traditional authentic stapes you’d find at any Smokehouse in the states.

Not in the mood for smoked? No problem. With a wider choice of dishes, there’s something for everyone to get stuck into with families and friends and for those “I can’t decide” kind of moments.

Smokin' Deals

Midweek just got a whole lot tastier. Monday to Thursday from 3 pm, the Smokin' deals serve up not-to-miss exclusive dishes inspired by the Smokehouse and beyond. Each day brings something different, giving you even more reasons to swing by.

Whether it’s after-work drinks, pre-dinner cocktails or just a laid-back sip, the Hickory's neighbourhood bar is the place to be.
From homemade sodas, hard shakes to, frozen and signature cocktails, Southern-inspired spritzes’ and a full spirit selection. There's also a full range of ice cold beers and over 25 Bourbons, collected from trips across the states!

Thank Hicks it's Friday!

What better way to celebrate the end of the week and say "Thank Hick's It's Friday" than listening to the sounds of the Deep South with a drink (or two) in hand!

Think £6 cocktails mixed to perfection, a pint of Driftaway IPA for just £4, a glass of wine for only £5 and the ultimate Southern classic non-alcoholic for a sweet £3.

Little guests are a big deal at Hickory’s. The children’s menu is designed with families in mind, offering a balanced mix of familiar favourites, lighter choices and fun treats – perfect for small (or big) appetites. With family-friendly spaces to keep them entertained, including the movie room and fro-co station, it’s a win for grown-ups too.
