Hickory's Smokehouse is an authentic American BBQ, located on the banks of the River Dee where you can enjoy a traditional style of cooking that has its roots in the US but is now firmly rooted in Chester.  You are assured of a warm Southern hospitality family-friendly welcome.

Born from a road trip across America’s Southern States, Hickory's Smokehouse learnt the craft of barbecue from some of the region’s most respected Pitmasters. Inspired by those experiences, Hickory’s Smokehouse brings together slow-cooked flavours, carefully prepared dishes and a welcoming team who pride themselves on genuine Southern hospitality.

Folks in the Southern States know one thing for sure - a good day starts with a proper meal. That’s why brunch isn’t optional. It’s essential!
There’s no rushing and no rules. Just good food, great company and plenty of time to settle in.
The brunch menu brings together Southern-inspired favourites, twists on classics and a few brand-new showstoppers, with plenty to choose from whatever you fancy.
Pair your plate with a freshly brewed Cup of Joe, an iced coffee or a refreshing glass of sweet tea, and you’ve got yourself a pretty good start to the day.
So, take your time, round up your favourite people and brunch the Hickory’s way.

Looking for somewhere a little different for lunch? Lighter bites have just landed at the Smokehouse! Bringing you all the flavours and laid-back spirit of the American Deep South to your afternoons.
Inspired by neighbourhood joints, BBQ shacks and roadside spots discovered on road trips across the Southern States, the new menu offers plenty of choice for a lunchtime catch-up, date, business meeting or quick pit stop.
With Southern-inspired favourites, BBQ dishes, lighter options and refreshing drinks, there’s something to suit every kind of lunch break.
So, whether you’re stepping away from the office or making an afternoon of it, pull up a chair and enjoy a taste of the Deep South.

A Taste of the South
Authenticity is absolutely key for Hickory's Smokehouse and that starts with the smokers. Anything good is worth waiting for, right? The ‘Ole Hickory’ Smokers from Missouri and the ‘Southern Pride’ smokers from Tennessee are set right into the heart of their restaurants.
The Smokehouse selection is cooked low ‘n’ slow, bringing out deep, authentic flavours inspired by the American South.
It takes more than a smoker to make the meat fall-off the-bone tender though. It’s the skill and passion of the pitmasters who have all been trained in the art of barbecue.
At Hickory’s they have a saying... “Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear aprons.” And the pitmasters are their heroes.
The Smokehouse menu celebrates exactly this. Think BBQ trays made for sharing, platters for when you want a bit of everything, and traditional authentic stapes you’d find at any Smokehouse in the states.
Not in the mood for smoked? No problem. With a wider choice of dishes, there’s something for everyone to get stuck into with families and friends and for those “I can’t decide” kind of moments.
And whatever you do… don’t skip over the appetisers and desserts. Trust us, they’re worth saving room for!

Whether it’s a midweek catch-up, date night, weekend get-together or Sunday sports session, there’s always a reason to head to the Smokehouse for BIG portions at small Smokehouse prices.

Available from 12 pm, Monday - Sunday every week until 22 November.

From The Bar
Whether it’s after-work drinks, pre-dinner cocktails or a laid-back catch-up with friends, our neighbourhood bar is the perfect place to settle in and sip awhile. From homemade sodas and hard shakes to frozen favourites, signature cocktails and Southern inspired spritzes, there’s plenty behind the bar to keep things interesting.
You’ll also find ice-cold beers, including our very own Hickory’s Pale Ale, a full selection of spirits and 25+ bourbons collected on their travels across the States.
Whatever you’re sippin’, pull up a chair, settle in and raise a glass.

Thank Hicks It’s Friday
What better way to celebrate the end of the week and say "Thank Hicks it's Friday" than listening to the sounds of the Deep South with a drink (or two) in hand!
Think £6 cocktails mixed to perfection, a pint of Driftaway IPA for just £4, a glass of wine for only £5, and the ultimate Southern classic non-alcoholic for a sweet £3.

Little guests are a big deal at Hickory’s. The children’s menu is designed with families in mind, offering a balanced mix of familiar favourites, lighter choices and fun treats – perfect for small (or big) appetites. With family-friendly spaces to keep them entertained, including the movie room and Fro-Co station… it’s a win for the grown-ups too.
