Kingdom Recommends is shopping heaven for drink lovers and the brainchild of Chester hospitality entrepeneur Kingdom Thenga. The brand ethos is based on the spirit of Ubuntu, a South African term meaning ‘humanity to others’ and also translates into ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’.

The Kingdom Recommends story starts over 20 years ago when a young 18 year old South African boy arrived in London to further his education, pursue a career in government and support his family back home. Things did not go according to plan and before long the young boy was ready to give up his London dream.  A chance meeting with a kind stranger not only renewed his faith in humanity, but this young man's career path would forever change and his hospitality journey begin.

When Kingdom opened his bar, his dream to establish a distillery, where he could create his own gins and vodka would have to wait a few more years until another fortuitous meeting with a co-owner of a gin distillery resulted in the birth of Kingdom Recommends.

The creation of a gin that could be sipped over ice without the need for mixers was the aim and Kingdom’s London Dry is precisely that, a light and smooth gin, easy to just serve over ice and sip, slow and easy.

As well as the Kingdom's London Dry, the range now includes several flavoured gins, Kingdom's Vodka and Kingdom's Spice Rum and lots of gift ideas.
