Your local pub in the city, good honest pub food, cracking beers, eclectic wines and a warm welcome.
The Henry Potts is a pub located on Watergate Street, Chester in the basement of the historic Watergate House. Your local pub in the city offering good honest food, cracking beers and interesting wines in the house that was built for its namesake Henry Potts in 1820.
Opened in June 2022, The Henry Potts is part of Pubs Limited, founded and run by Jerry Brunning (formerly Brunning & Price), where good food and drink with a warm welcome comes as standard.
The food on offer is not your normal pub grub, expect seasonal dishes, classic pub dishes, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and everything including the ice cream is made in house in the new, state of the art, full induction kitchen.
Naturally the drinks on offer are pretty special too, with a selection of wines available on tap! Sourced, specially blended and imported by The Henry Potts these wines offer fantastic value. There's a house beer, JPA, a truly quaffable pale session ale, a back bar of over 200 spirits including 70+ gins, 50+ whiskies and 30 rums - and an ever-changing classic cocktail list.
Reserve your table via the 'Book Now' button above.
The Henry Potts is open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm, the daily menu is served from 12 - 9.30 pm (8 pm Sundays) and a set menu Sunday Roast is available every week.
Given the close proximity to Chester Racecourse, there are a few guidelines regarding these 15 days. Please book in advance on Race Days, as you will need to be on the guest list to gain entry. On offer is the same pub atmosphere, whether you’re attending the races or just want to pop into your local.
