Hospitality Sector Supports New Book from Northwest Hero

Steven Hesketh is celebrated in Chester and Liverpool for his tireless efforts to champion the hospitality industry.

From running the Chester Townhouse to serving as special advisor to the Soul Kitchen board, he is an award-winning hotelier, and has now released a brand-new children’s book to encourage kids to consider a career in the industry. The book is titled “Bee Our Guest”.

An official book launch at The Clubhouse in Liverpool recently saw Hesketh enjoy widespread support from hospitality heads and educators from across the region. The book was created by the “Hospitality Hero”, with help from collaborators such as illustrator Hannah Jesse and author Natalie Reeves Billing.

The event proved a massive success and exceeded all expectations regarding promoting the new title. At the end of the launch, the new book had risen to rank at number two on Amazon’s list of best sellers.

Aimed at readers aged between seven and 10, the goal of the book is to show young people just how purposeful, positive and rewarding a hospitality career can be. Illustrated in full colour, it takes the opportunity to showcase the wide range of roles available like chefs, events managers and swimming pool lifeguards. It also explains the importance of teamwork and standards in the sector.

Hesketh now aims to take the book to classrooms across the entire country. The plan includes author visits at assemblies, lesson packs for teachers and partnerships between employers and colleges to turn early interest into real experience.

Bee Our Guest can be ordered on Amazon in paperback.
