Candlelit Rock Comes to Chester

From its renowned medieval Mystery Plays to its art exhibitions and installations featuring leading creatives, Chester Cathedral offers unique experiences for a wide range of tastes. Now it has announced that in September it will be presenting another one of its popular candlelit concerts.

While the cathedral still holds regular services, over the years it has earned a reputation as a premier events venue for the city. Candlelit concerts in the past have featured classic carols and celebrated crooners like Elvis and Michael Bublé, the upcoming concerts in autumn will pay tribute to ‘70s rockers Fleetwood Mac. Dubbed “Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight”, the show will feature a live band and a cast of talented singers straight from the stage of London’s West End.

Thanks to Chester Cathedral’s impressive acoustics, those attending will be able to hear a selection of Fleetwood Mac hits like they’ve never quite heard them before. The show features some of the best loved tracks from the band’s songbook, including “Dreams”, “Little Lies”, Rhiannon”, “The Chain”, “Don’t Stop”, “Gypsy” and “Go Your Own Way”.

Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight will take place at Chester Cathedral on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23. The cathedral can be found on St Werburgh Street in Chester, and the concert will start at 7.30 pm and end at 10 pm on both days.

Tickets for the event are available at a wide range of prices, including VIP tickets in the front row at £45 and screen-view only tickets for just £10.
