Chester to Hear Spy Soundtrack

A spiritual and social hub for the city, Chester Cathedral is also a celebrated arts venue that hosts live concerts and cinema. Now, the beloved building will be combining its support of both media at an event entitled “Bond by Candlelight”.

The cathedral invites Chester visitors and residents alike to enjoy an evening of candlelit music from the London Concertante ensemble, accompanied by three gifted singers. From the original theme composed by conductor James Barry to title tracks performed by chart-topping megastars like Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Tina Turner, the music of James Bond films is internationally acclaimed.

The event will take place in the evening and will feature two different shows to ensure all who wish to attend get their chance. The first will start at 6 pm and end at 7.15 pm, while the second will run between 8 pm and 9.15 pm.

With its grand arches and astonishing acoustics Chester Cathedral provides a premier sonic experience and an exemplary environment for a candle lit concert. Fans of the titular agent attending will be able to hear a wide range of theme songs from the famous spy franchise sourced from blockbusters like No Time to Die, Skyfall, Diamonds are Forever, Goldfinger, Spectre, From Russia with Love and Goldeneye, to name but a few.

The Bond by Candlelight event will now be held at Chester Cathedral on Saturday, April 13. The cathedral is easy to find on St Werburgh Street in Chester, and tickets for the upcoming shows are priced at £23.46 per person.
