Classical Singer to Captivate Chester

Guests and residents of the city of Chester looking for winter thrills can attend an upcoming concert.

Grade-listed landmark Chester Cathedral is hosting a special event within its nave called “Winter Light” in December that features Nadia Eide, a celebrated soprano and finalist of hit-show “The Voice”.

Eide entered the hearts and minds of the nation back in 2021. Her appearance on the UK edition of the ITV programme was singular, as she was the sole classical singer on the list of competitors. With her powerful four and half octave range, she wowed audiences and judges alike, helping her secure a place as finalist for the will.i.am team.

A star of musical theatre, opera and stage, Eide has received a warm reception from critics for her classical singing. Now, the acclaimed performer is breaking the barriers of the classical and contemporary music crossover genre, enjoying standing ovations for her appearances. The winter event in Chester is part of an already successful tour that sees the singer charm audiences in some of the country’s most attractive cathedrals and churches in the run up to Christmas.

Those attending the concert can hear the soprano perform classic songs and festive favourites accompanied by a guest choir. Music planned for the evening event includes “Amazing Grace”, “Panis Angelicus”, “I Believe in Father Christmas” and “O Holy Night”, among many others.

Tickets are now available priced from £16.96, and the concert starts take place at Chester Cathedral on Thursday, December 4 at 7.30 pm. The cathedral is situated on Saint Werburgh Street.
