With a new James Bond film entering production this year, a timely event is taking place at Chester Cathedral. The much-visited landmark is lending its impressive acoustics and stately interior to a concert this summer called “The Music of James Bond”.
Fans of the franchise and its unforgettable soundtracks will be treated to a night of symphonic sounds from the renowned chamber ensemble, The Great British Film Orchestra. Far more than just a concert, the event is an orchestral tribute to the iconic series of spy films that now spans six decades.
Performed by trained vocalists and musicians, the sophisticated show features dynamic themes from the titles that have starred actors such as Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, and Daniel Craig as 007. Tracks on the night will include John Barry’s classic “James Bond Theme”, “Moonraker”, “Goldfinger”, “Skyfall” and “No Time To Die”, to name a few.
The Great British Film Orchestra celebrates the best of cinematic soundtracks. At each performance, it honours the artistry of storytellers and composers who have produced everlasting moments for fans of film.
The Music of James Bond will now be performed live in The Nave of Chester Cathedral on Friday, August 7. The grade-listed cathedral is simple to spot on Saint Werburgh Street in Chester, and admission is available at several different prices according to the view of the performance.
Those booking tickets who have sensitivities are advised that the concert has a loud atmosphere and will feature flashing lights.
