Canal Boat Hire Experience at Tattenhall Marina

Tattenhall Marina is in an idyllic location on the Shropshire Union canal in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, where you can hire narrowboats for a day cruising experience and create your own adventure on the water.

Situated just 9 miles out of Chester, you can enjoy your canal boat for the day and explore the local area and the surrounding cruising routes, in the tranquil surroundings of the Shropshire Union Canal. This different day out is the perfect way to enjoy some quality time with family or friends.

The three boats available for hire are custom built for day cruising with large open air seating for you to relax and enjoy the stunning canalside scenery.  Whether you're the one learning a new skill at the helm or just watching the beautiful landscape pass by, you're assured of an adventure on the waterways and memories to treasure.

The narrowboats have a capacity for up to 8 or 10 people and all three day boats are pet friendly so your four-legged friend can be part of your fun day on the Shropshire Union canal too.

There are two cruising routes to choose from either heading north towards Chester on a 9 mile route, taking approximately 3 hours or south towards Nantwich on a 4 mile, approximately 1 1/2-hour route.

Canal boats are available to hire from April - October and on selected Saturdays in December.

Enjoy some delicious food either before or after your trip at the Boathouse Café Bar. The perfect place to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and a selection of beer, wine and local spirits as well as a menu of freshly prepared dishes from sandwiches, cakes, light bites and more hearty meals.
