Explore the rich history and heritage of Chester and the surrounding areas in the Grosvenor museum. The Grade 11 listed building houses collections of archaeology, fine and decorative arts, natural and social history covering the diverse culture and heritage of the City.
At the back of the museum you will find 20 Castle Street, which belongs to the Museum and was built around 1680. It has been part of the Grosvenor Museum since 1955 and is now home to nine period rooms spanning from 1680 to 1925 for you to explore.
The museum is FREE to enter, however, a suggested donation of £3 is encouraged and to ensure the safety of staff and visitors the Grosvenor Museum has also introduced revised opening times and pre-booking - To pre-book your visit please ring 01244 972 197 from Tuesday to Saturday.
