Chester’s famous racecourse will soon have a special visitor. This month, a festive event called “Santa & Son Live” will find the venerable venue’s Pavillion Suite graced by comedian and children’s author, David Walliams.
Presented by Booka Bookshop, the special occasion is designed to celebrate the release of Walliams’ first-ever Christmas story, “Santa & Son”. The tale is set on Christmas Eve in the world’s most renowned toy shop. When robbers break in, only the store Santa Claus and his son can foil their plans. Using a wide array of toys to tackle the criminals like bouncy balls, pogo sticks, stink bombs, slime and remoted controlled helicopters, the heroes work to save the shop.
Those attending the two-hour event can enjoy an interactive and performative experience. Walliams will read excerpts from Santa & Son, and afterwards, members of the audience will get an opportunity to have their questions answered by the author-comedian on stage.
While Walliams won’t be available for book signing at the event, he will be holding a special meet and greet session after the performance. Additionally, all attending can collect a pre-signed copy of the new book, which is included in the ticket price.
Santa & Son Live with David Walliams will now take place at Chester Racecourse on Sunday, October 19. The event has a start time of 10.30 am and runs util 12.30 pm, and the racecourse is located on New Crane Street in Chester. Tickets for the in-person event are priced at £22 per person.
