Children’s TV Presenters to Headline Chester Zoo Event

Chester Zoo has announced that presenters from some of the UK’s most popular television shows will be taking to the stage at an event this month.

Dubbed the Wildlife Connections Festival, the September event will feature Mwaka Mudenda of Blue Peter, and Chantelle Lindsay, the conservationist and presenter of CBeebies show Teeny Tiny Creatures.

A family-friendly occasion, the event is designed to showcase the wonderful wildlife of Britain. However, its mission is also to educate festivalgoers on how they can participate in protecting the UK’s native species to combat the fact that 50% of Britain’s plants and animals are currently in decline.

Saturday will see Blue Peter’s Mudenda provide an interactive stage show and a meet and greet at the festival. On Sunday, Lindsay will assume the same role. Attendees of the festival will get the opportunity to interact with an extensive selection of British wildlife in a wide range of hands-on activities like pond dipping, bird spotting and bug hunting.

Speaking out for the event, the Chester Zoo Conservation Education and Engagement team’s Anya Moon commented:

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Mwaka and Chantelle to our Wildlife Connections Festival for the very first time. They both share our huge passion for the wonderful wildlife found here in the UK and so this is the perfect opportunity to connect families with nature through our fun-filled weekend.”

The Wildlife Connections Festival will take place at Chester Zoo’s Nature Reserve on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm on both days.
