Respected conservationist and internationally famous attraction Chester Zoo recently launched a new podcast series.
Dubbed “Abi Clarke: Zookeeper in Training”, the audio show has six instalments and is available on several popular platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Helmed by the much-loved comedian who has proved a TikTok success, the podcast follows Clarke as she immerses herself in a hands-on zoo experience at Chester Zoo to discover if she has the qualities required to become one of its capable keepers.
The zoo’s brand-new audio programme is its first official podcast and is designed to offer listeners rare and unforgettable insights into life within its 128 acres. Highlights of the series will include Clarke looking after giant otters, connecting with rare East African giraffes and helping a 107-strong flock of flamingos move into their new home.
Listeners can enjoy the stand-up star’s heartfelt and often humorous attempts to interact and care for some of the most threatened wildlife in the world alongside Chester Zoo’s dedicated teams, who continuously work to protect them. After rising to fame on social media through her comedy sketches, Clarke has accrued more than two million followers online. Commenting on her experiences on the project, she said:
“I’m having the best time hosting the podcast. As an animal lover, it’s a privilege to have such unique access to Chester Zoo and meet so many rare and precious animals – as you’ll hear, I really get stuck in!”
Abi Clarke: Zookeeper in Training officially launched on Tuesday, June 24.
