Families in Chester seeking Easter entertainment won’t have far to travel this April. Just beyond the city’s Roman walls, national attraction and fearless conservationist Chester Zoo is running an event called the “Really Wild Egg Trail”.
Animal fans from the city and beyond can explore the zoo in the spring month for a chance to discover a hidden selection of huge eggs. Chester Zoo is challenging visitors to try and find them all on an adventure that is free to all members and those paying admission to enter its 128-acre gardens.
Every one of the huge eggs has been skilfully painted with a special pattern that represents an animal native to Africa. An educational experience, the egg hunt will let intrepid adventurers learn the names of a wide range of egg-laying species from animals with fur to those covered in scales. It will also teach them about the important role the zoo plays helping nature not just to survive, but thrive across the globe.
Eager participants can pick up a specially prepared trail map to track down the hidden giant eggs on the family-friendly expedition in the heart of the attraction. Those who manage to spot all the eggs and name every animal from their unique pattern will be well-rewarded with a sweet Easter treat from the zoo gift shop.
Chester Zoo can be found at Upton-by-Chester, and the Really Wild Egg Hunt launches on Friday, April 4 and runs until Sunday, April 27.
