As the summer draws to an end in Chester, residents and city visitors alike will have an opportunity to add a trip to its award-winning zoo to their to-do list.
For the inexpensive price of just £10, Chester Zoo is offering guests a three-hour experience that lets them see their favourite animals, make a school holiday memory or get a first taste of the attraction.
Valid until Sunday, September 6, the afternoon admission can be used between 3 pm and 6 pm on any day (including weekends), but isn’t available on entry. Instead, zoo guests must purchase their tickets online ahead of their visit. Carers who accompany disabled zoo visitors during the offer’s run are also entitled to a ticket free of charge.
Many new animals have arrived at Chester Zoo recently, some by birth and others transferring from other locations, ensuring even the most regular zoo visitors can have a brand-new encounter. Highlights include Kris, a male of a species of endangered giraffes, and Akashi, a red panda female, who were both brought to Chester as part of an important breeding programme to help prevent extinction. There are also numerous animals born within the zoo that are also at risk in the wild. These include giant otter triplets, an aardvark calf called Womble, a rare tree kangaroo joey, a Roloway monkey and a rare anoa, a species known as the world’s smallest buffalo.
Chester Zoo is just a short drive from the heart of the city, and is open seven days a week.
