National Autistic Society Recognises Efforts of Chester Attraction

The Ice Cream Farm in Chester is no stranger to accolades and achievements.

It’s renowned for having the world’s largest ice cream parlour (serving over 50 flavours) and for its Guinness Record-breaking outdoor activities that include Europe’s biggest outdoor water and sand play area. It was also named the “Visitor Attraction of the Year” at the 2025 edition of the Marketing Cheshire Awards.

Now, in celebration of World Autism Day (celebrated each year on April 2), the ice cream-themed attraction was recently recognised by the UK’s National Autistic Society. The charity has supported people with autism and their families since 1962 and praised the farm for its dedication to making an environment with autism-friendly features.

The Cheshire attraction is firmly focused on community impact. It works closely with Chester West and Cheshire Council and special education provider the Petty Pool Vocational College and Outdoor Centre to provide inclusive experiences.

The Ice Cream Farm holds Special Educational Needs (SEN) sessions each month, providing a calmer, quieter and less crowded environment. It also holds SEN versions of its special seasonal events. This Easter, for instance, there will be an edition of a special scavenger hunt for children with special education needs that lets them find a code proving access to the private den of the Easter Bunny.

The Easter SEN event will take place on April 6, starts at 9 am and ends at 11.30 am. The Ice Cream Farm can be found at Drumlan Hall, on Newton Lane in Chester.
