This summer, Chester Racecourse is hosting a returning event designed for little racegoers.
Dubbed “Family Fun Day 2025”, the August event still boasts a full racecard for thrilling action on the track, but also features an abundance of entertainment for children.
A community-focused occasion, each year the Racecourse invites local Chester enterprises to get involved and present a wide range of activities aimed at kids. This year will be no different, and families attending can expect inflatable play zones, fun fairs, crafting activities, music workshops and much more to keep their little ones engaged and entertained.
Parents looking for a low-cost day out for the family will also appreciate a special feature of the event, that any children under the age of 17 enjoy free admission to the racecourse.
While the event is especially planned for children to enjoy, Chester Racecourse is prepared for younger racegoers whenever it’s open. It’s popular pub on site, The White Horse, has a special healthy menu designed just for children. It includes Cawston Press no-added sugar juice drinks, and every meal contains at least one of their five-a-day. Sides of veg sticks are served alongside family favourites like burgers, pizzas and chicken strips, while other options include cod and chips and sausage and mash. For dessert, there is home baked brownies and cookies or fresh fruit with sorbet.
Chester Racecourse is situated on New Crane Street in Chester, and Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday, August 3. The first race is at 2.30 pm, with the final race at 5.22 pm.
