Local Cestrians and Chester visitors with a passion for the soulful songs of Whitney Houston are in for a treat later this month.
The events team at Chester Cathedral has announced that the city landmark’s grade listed interior will soon ring out with the gifted singer’s music at a special candle lit concert.
The upcoming event will feature one of Britain’s foremost Whitney Houston Tribute acts, who will faithfully recreate classic numbers with support from a live band of talented musicians. Those coming down to the show will get to hear Houston’s biggest hits aided by the dynamic acoustics of the cathedral’s nave. These will include but aren’t limited to “Dance with Somebody”, “My Love Is Your Love”, “I Will Always Love You”, “Saving All Your Love”, “Greatest Love of All”, “How Will I Know” and “I Have Nothing”.
To ensure the show is accessible to as many Whitney Houston fans in the city as possible, tickets are provided at a wide range of different prices with varying views.
These extend upwards from views of the show on screen only in the south and north aisles of The Nave for just £15, to VIP tickets that place concertgoers centrally in the two front rows of the venue for £45 per person.
Presented by Carols by Candlelight, the Whitney Houston tribute concert will be live in The Nave at Chester Cathedral on Friday, February 28. The cathedral is situated on St Werburgh Street in Chester, and a fully licensed bar will run at the event.
