Chester Cathedral to Present Vivaldi

Designed for the festive season, Chester Cathedral will be holding a special concert entitled “Vivaldi Four Seasons at Christmas” in late December.

The Grade-listed cathedral’s astonishing acoustics have seen it selected as an ideal venue for an extensive array of concerts, from Christmas carol services to contemporary rock shows.

The December concert will allow classical music enthusiasts the chance to enjoy a live performance of Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi’s world famous Four Seasons. The Piccadilly Sinfonietta will be playing for Chester and will feature Warren Mailley-Smith on Piano, with a talented violin soloist yet to be confirmed for the event.

The Yuletide programme will begin with Christmas Concerto by Corelli and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K467. There will then be an interval, followed by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

The cathedral concert is presented by CityMusic Promotions Ltd and is designed to bring an epic performance of the timeless classic from Vivaldi to residents and visitors to Chester over the holiday season.

The Vivaldi Four Seasons at Christmas event will take place at Chester Cathedral on Thursday, December 28. The Cathedral is located on St Werburgh Street in Chester, with the performance set to start at 7.30pm and end at 9.15pm.

A selection of different bands of tickets are offered for the concert, ranging from band C tickets with restricted views for £19, band A and B tickets for £38 and band AA tickets for £42, which feature seats in the front two rows and a CD.
