Chester Celebrates Local Music Talent

As the city’s most well-established grassroots venue for comedy and music, Alexander’s Live is a hotspot for concerts and shows in Chester. This summer, the long-running venue is welcoming back an annual event designed to showcase rising stars in the region’s vibrant music scene.

Dubbed “Loud N Local”, the all-day celebration is marking an important milestone, its 10-year anniversary. The festival will begin at midday and is due to run until late. While bands from Chester and Cheshire make up most of the bill, up-and-coming artists from further afield are also appearing. These include Leeds’s Bathing Suits and Manchester’s Holly Head, as well as talent from London.

Three sound stages will be set up for the concert, with a total of 20 acts performing live, plus DJs. The Main Stage will feature artists like Dave Jahvu and Jonny Sax, Campfire Social and the Josh Gibbons Band, while The Unpleasant Regulars, Nope Rope, Electric Blues Factory and Vanity Firm will play the Courtyard Stage. The Restless Bear Stage will be graced by Yammer and, at midnight and 1 am, DJ sets from Jono Barbarrosa and Vill the Goat, bringing tracks for revellers to dance the night away to,

Loud N Local will now run at Alexander’s Live on Sunday, August 30. The venue is easy to find at Rufus Court in Chester, and tickets are available at various prices. These include early bird access for £9.80 and general admission at £14.20. Children under age 12 enjoy free admission on the day.
